There are 573 people on the student list. Since March of this year, we’ve contacted 208 of you already and we’re in the process of calling another 122 of you at the moment.
We sent 103 of you e-mail via Classmates.com (or appealed to a sibling, a niece, a nephew, a parent in a few cases – whether we like it or not Classmates is a prime piece of the search process). This was a total crapshoot. Would you respond? We didn’t know. We hoped so.
The Classmates people on this list are here for obvious reasons. E-mail from Classmates.com is largely ignored or treated as SPAM after the third pestering e-mail you receive from them. Speaking for myself, I look forward to terminating my account there on October 9. We’ve sent 280 pieces of e-mail on their system and have received about 30 responses – most of them dead ends – e.g., “no, sorry I’m not related to Bat Guano. Good Luck with the Reunion.”
So, as of today, I’d like you to consider anyone in the Classmates Section of the following list as being lost to the Search Team as well. If you know any of these people and haven’t already contacted them, please be sure to drop them a line or give them a call about the reunion. If you’ve contacted them, consider letting us know so we can take them off this list. You’d be surprised to know how many people are actually out there searching along with us. Its really astounding.
For their sake, more so than mine, if you are reading this and see your name on the lists, please drop us a line using the RSVP button located to the right of you.
If you have any updates to this list – people you know to be deceased, got married, changed their name or gender, are tired of having their name mis-spelled, are living under witness protection, etc.: a note to that effect would be very useful as well.

Hi Aaron,
I know that Barb Pearce and Doris Smith have been contacted, so you can remove them from the Classmates list.
Sue
Hello Aaron,
I got this mail forwarded by my brother.
It’s nice to know that you are still getting together.
I am sorry that I have not had a chance to attend the reunions so far.

Debbie Durrand
I became aware of this sad news of Debbie’s passing. A number of Scona graduates were classmates of Debbie’s during our years at Allendale Elementary…
DeDURRAND KNOLL, Debbie Denise Born December 25, 1959 On November 8, 2007 after a two-year fight against breast cancer, it is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Debbie Denise Durrand. Although she did not give up fighting, her motto throughout her struggle was, “What will be…will be.” Debbie was a free spirited, independent woman who loved to be active, had many interests and was happy doing things her way. Debbie had a passion for horses in her early life and enjoyed caring for and riding her horses. Her favorite memories are times spent with her sons Denis and John, her fondest being camping trips to the lake. Other special times for Debbie include playing cards with her Mom, Doris and Dad (Pops), Denis; conversations with her brother, Darrell. Not only watching her two boys grow up but watching her nephews Cody and Dylan who also had a special place in her heart. In Debbie’s final days she spoke fondly of many memories and special friendships all for which she was thankful for. Debbie will be sadly missed and remembered by her sons Denis Knoll and John Knoll, parents Denis and Doris Durrand, brother Darrell Durrand, wife Shelly and families as well as numerous relatives and friends. The family would like to say thank you to the very special staff of unit 51 at the Grey Nuns Hospital.
