The two most gratifying things about working on this project so far have been the positive attitude of everyone involved and the contact with those we saw every day and then never again for 30 years. Here’s a sampling of the reaction we’ve received from your former classmates.
If you’ve got something you’d like to say, post a comment on this page.
Our classmates write…,
I can’t face the idea of a High School Reunion. I didn’t have much school spirit when I was at Scona. Anyone I cared about, I’ve kept in contact with so it makes no sense at all to me. Gazing upon our collective aging; catching up on successes, misfortunes would be unsettling. I’d rather not. — signed ‘party pooper’
Please add me to your list of potential attendees —
I’ll dig up as many email addresses as possible for you. — signed ‘party pooper’
Thanks so much for your e-mail! Wow, it is so hard to believe that 30 years have gone by already! I would certainly love to attend the reunion and I’ll forward all my info to that e-mail address. It will really be exciting to see everyone again!
I’m hoping to make it, and I have contacted several people. It could be fun, weird, but fun…
And [we'll call him Joe], works for Corrections Canada. Ran into him years ago in Hub mall. Confessed to me he had had a huge crush on me in high school. Wild stuff. Nice Guy.
I will pass your email along the bits of the network that I still have from those days. I’m not in Edmonton, but perhaps could be of some help in organizing. Let me know if there is some way that I can contribute.
Here’s one for you to look for for me. [name withheld - to build up the dramtic emphasis-ed]. My god I owe that guy a few or few dozen apologies for how rude I was to him. Even if it was years ago, my conscience prickles me – I hope we all arrive at pushing fifty understanding just how young and immature we are at school age, and able to forgive unthinking unkindness. Still, he was a nerd and besotted with me, and wore a beanie to school once. But no doubt now a very nice man, as he was a very nice boy, and probably rich. That’s what happens to nerds.
I can’t believe it’s been 30 years. Makes me feel ancient. We just moved back to Edmonton last August, after 20 years in Ontario and 3 years in Calgary. I feel like a stranger here (there are so many changes).
Thanks for putting this event together. Should be very interesting to see everyone so many years later. Despite living in Edmonton (again), I am in contact with virtually no fellow classmates.
Thanks for tracking me down – yes I did attend Scona High – fond memories – would like to learn more about the event – been living in Victoria BC since 1985.
thank you! So exciting to think I might talk to her again. Just dispatched hurried and garbled email to her.
Place me down for 2 tickets.
I just saw his name on the list of students on the website. This is the first I knew of him being in our class- but it may be that he wasn’t – I’ll check and let you know.
Funny, I didn’t think I would remember anyone from Scona after 30 years, but I do remember you. And I’m alarmed to know that it’s already been 30 years! I haven’t been in touch with many of the Scona folk but I will pass your message to the few that I keep in touch with (though perhaps it’s through them that you found my email address in the first place…). Thanks for putting this event together. It will be good to catch up with people I have not been in touch with for a very very long time. I’m not living in Edmonton anymore, but would do my best to attend in any case.
Yes, I will be attending the Reunion for sure, so please reserve a ticket for me – I’ll just be coming by myself, so just one ticket.
How I found out about the planned reunion?? My son Steven played for the Allendale Boys Basketball team for the past 3 years. This year Max, a member of the coaching staff is [so-and-so's] son. Also, another member team is the son of [so-and-so], the brother of [so-and-so - the other so-and-so - ed.]. I recall a conversation I had with [so-and-so], talking about the “good old days” in high school. I’ve been told that a sure sign of aging is that you start reminiscing about you past more frequently. Among other things we mentioned it would be interesting to have a reunion of some sort just to see what became of the students. It’s a fantastic idea to organize a reunion. Hopefully the turn-out will be great.
Cool, thanks for the note. I have been and will continue to spread the word whenever I have the opportunity.
[so-and-so] I think is in Calgary, linguistics professor, and [another so-and-so] in Nanaimo, some kind of prof, and I want most of all to know where [still another so-and-so] is these days. Think about her often.
Sorry I’ve been so hard to reach. I’m looking forward to the reunion. Great website!
Just wanted to confirm that spouses are invited?
He’s in the Edmonton White Pages too. I will also contact him an encourage him to come.
Thanks for all of the great work you have done! She [The so-and-so] is icing on the cake!
I actually long for the day I could move back to Edmonton. I did my PhD at UBC and then ended up teaching there for a while after I graduated , then at the University of Washington in Seattle. I’ve been at U of T since 1999. I was never going into education and I was never going to live in Toronto so I can certainly relate to the never say never. I look forward to seeing you in the fall.
I will attend the reunion – just 1 ticket for me.
My wife and I plan to attend…
What a wonderful surprise to get this note from you. As it happens I’m scheduled to be in Edmonton just around October 6 so I’ll simply make plans to stay on. I’ll submit my information to the site as per your request. Unfortunately, I have not stayed in touch with anyone from high school – perhaps because I have not lived in Edmonton for the last 20 years – so I can’t pass the information on to anyone. I do look forward to reconnecting.
DUDE! 30 years, oh my lord. Until you wrote it down it just didn’t seem possible. Damn you.
Please put me down to attend. Can’t wait!
This sounds great and I will absolutely plan to attend.
I was just wondering if there is a list somewhere of the people that you can not locate. I have the information from our 10 year reunion and might be able to track down some people with that.
I would like to confirm that so-and-so and I will be attending as well as another so-and-so. He does not have e-mail so any information you need to get to him you can do through this e-mail address and I will be certain he gets it.
I have an old phone number for so-and-so. He and [Mrs. So-and-so] were living in Sherwood Park the last time we saw them. The number I have is xxx-xxxx.
With any luck it’s still the same.
If I get any more information on any other grads I will let you know. Have a great day.
Put me down for 1 ticket.
I never get any sleep when I get an email from an old friend. I stay up giving my memory a work out and when it is some one like you that goes all the way back 40+ years it is a real work out.
I plan to be at the weekend with my wife.
I have not taken the time to look over the website.
Do I order the tickets on it or from you or do I pick them up or what????
Or should I just look at the site to familiarize myself with EVERYTTHING.?
Please put me down for one ticket…Ill be sending my cheque in shortly.
i am not so-and-so i am her brother, she is still living in edmonton.i will let her know about the 30 year reunion
I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the 30 year reunion. It will be great to catch up on old times and see how much everyone has changed or hasn’t changed. I emailed SO-AND-SO in Toronto to see if she might be able to come to the reunion. She will mark it on her calendar. Take care and see you in October.
Consider the message passed on. And yes I am so-and-so’s sister.
I am so-and-so’s sister he is currently iiving in Mexico as a missionary but does come home several times a year with his wife and daughter..I will forward your e-mail on to him.
Will be great to see everyone! Wonder if they will look as old as I???
Yes I would like to attend the reunion. I need one ticket.
Weirdly enough today I was looking for a friend from my high school class for our 35 reunion… I haven’t kept in touch with so-and-so in years but she was in British Columbia since I think her parents went to BC to retire, and might not still be with us… Not sure who I could suggest in the French Department who might still know where she is.. I’m assuming you did GOOGLE her… and couldn’t find anything..
but I did a search and I would suggest you try this-guy at the UofA who it looks knew where she was in 2002… but he doesn’t show up at the UofA info…so he might be gone.. I have a vague memory of him passing away since he was one of our authors… I’ve sent a message to one of the profs in the Department of French who I know and asked if they might forward the message if anyone there knows where she is…
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help, but my request to forward this on if the Department knows where she is will carry more weight…
P.S. My husband knows you and says HI… it’s a small
town isn’t it!
[ed. note - looking for people is sometimes a real challenge. it is so nice to receive a response like this from a total stranger. small kindnesses are actually huge things. what a great start to the week!]
Q: Hey So-and-So, Did you manage to get in touch with so-and-so? Do you think she will come to the Reunion?
A: Yes and Yes!!
I told my sister about the reunion because she still sees so-and-so, I guess she won’t be coming… and I have passed on the invite to So-and-So as well. She’s the organist at my mum’s church. Tada!
I actually enjoyed breezing through the list of names from the class…so many people who haven’t crossed your mind in years and years, but just the name triggers all kinds of memories…ahhh…youth.
Hold it! Speaking of youth…time to wake up [teenaged son]–it’s past noon. The slacker!! And [other teenage son] has gone on a road trip to New York for a concert, with like 1 hour to prepare!! No American money, no place to stay…just concert tickets!! Teens today.
Your kids are still sweet and little, right?
Well I’d sure like to make it. Volleyball tourney could get in the way though. Poked around Scona a few years ago with students while coaching track and field (provincials were held there). Of course I didn’t know anyone. Ending with a quote from the 70’s “giv’er!). I’m going to try.
Craig Lerbekmo
My plan is to come out to Edmonton for what looks to be a great reunion. Thanks to everyone arranging it.
Many thanks for the reminder. I did in fact hear about the reunion from a variety of excited sources.
I hope this helps out and I just want to say that I think you guys have done a fantastic job with all of the work you have done to put this Reunion together – thanks so much!
I am really looking forward to seeing you in October!
This Reunion, it’s a healing thing for a lot of people.
What a lot of work you’ve all done. I won’t be able to come to the reunion but I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time. If the anyone wants to contact me, look me up on Facebook. –Patricia
Until June I didn’t feel that 30 years has gone by but then my middle daughter graduated and it made me think how strange it was that she graduated 30 years after me! (I must admit it made me feel a bit old.) I’m really looking forward to catching up with people and thanks to all of you who had a hand in organizing the event. Excellent work! Count me in for two tickets.
Thanks a lot(!) to you especially, and all the others involved for for your time and effort to put the reunion together. The photo on the website of you, Lorna, Ron, Adrian, Susan, Anita, John and Brett is great. You have all aged very well. I enjoyed some nice email correspondence with Lorna earlier in the year as she was working to find people.
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend the reunion. That weekend, I will be in Chicago to run, with 44,999 of my closest friends, the Chicago Marathon. My wife and I will be going there with several other friends who are also running and we made the commitment to go early this year.
If there is anything I can do from afar to assist with the reunion preparations, please let me know. I already gave all the hints I had to Lorna about various classmates. It is amazing that, despite such generally fond memories of high school, I keep in touch with so few of my classmates (Warren Cree is still a close friend and I see Doug McCannell occasionally but that is about it). If you decide to put together any kind of “where are they now?” document, I will be happy to submit something and would love to read what about others have done with their lives.
Best wishes,
Jim
Hello to all.
By way of Heather MacLennan (we are still best friends!!) I heard about this planned event – it looks like a lot of work is going into this so thanks to the planning team (though I am not sure who that is – is that on the website someplace?). I will attend at least the reception.
I was pretty focussed in highschool – on marks and working part time and wasn’t all that “social” or involved in school activities except with my close group of friends. So I think attending is a good way to show the school spirit I may have somewhat avoided in the past..:-)
Dorothy Aitken (Lowrie)
I will be attending the reunion.
Great website!
Brett Maimann
Cam Stewart will attend both the school tour and the reception.
I will mail a check to the infamously devious Anita Marr!
Thanks…Cam
Thanks and the website looks great – the count down is on, now all I need to do is loose 20 pounds and get the major botox done!
Unfortunately due to work commitments I will not be able to attend the reunion. I have fond memories of my days at Scona. You have done an outstanding job putting the blog together and I will continue to read it for information on my classmates. I wish everyone all the best and I will miss not catching up with everyone.
Best Wishes to all
Warren…
Thanks for the info on the 30 year reunion.
I will not attend but think often of many of you who will attend. Old faces in a new light, old friends long past removed from my memory I will miss this opportunity to see and visit with you again.
I wish you all well and hope we all live a long happy life and will meet again in another 30 years.
Darryl Welk
P.S. Known deceased: Gerry Tracey, Donald Denyer
I had to wait on my schedule before I could respond to this invite. It is with sadness that I will not be able to attend the event. As mentioned, I’m still very involved in the dance world and have finalized plans for an instructor to come from Montreal for that weekend. You and your committee have done what appears to be a fantastic job at planning this event. No doubt it will be go without a hitch. If you have the time, I’d love to hear back on its success post party. You have my permission to have my drink!…or two!
Warm wishes Wendy Craig (Read)
Hi,
Would love to come (2) persons. I will send a cheque ASAP Also if you need to contact Terry Reynolds/Brian Lang their phone number is xxx-xxxx or xxx-yyyy.

Hi all,
Great job on the website – I’m looking forward to catching up with everyone in October! Please put me down for one ticket.
Susan Chanyi
Thanks for the info, Aaron.
I’ll hope to attend.
And I’m pleased to add that my daughter is a Scona grad too – class of 2004.
Barb Esdale
This is so great! I didn’t think I would remember as many fantastic faces as I did when I went through the yearbook, I hope no one has changed too much!
Thank you for all the time you have spent putting this reunion together, the website etc. Great Job!
Please count us in…Aileen McInnes(Williams) and Shannon Pillman(Vinek)…the cheque is in the mail…seriously!
Shannon
I will be attending the Strathcona Reunion and will bring at least one other person.
Thanks!

Mark Klaszus was killed back in the early 80’s. His sister Christel should be living in the Edmonton area (the last I heard it was St Albert). Vic Johnson lived in Victoria for years and I left messages at every V. Johnson in the province. I have also contacted Kyle Cheriton who is living in Japan.
I hope that helps!
Bruce Puffer
Hello from Tokyo. Good to hear about the event and to see so many familiar names. I’ll check my schedule asap and see if I can get to Edmonton that weekend.
Kyle
yahoo…
30 years.. How time flies.
I would be honored to attend the Scona /77 reunion. Please keep me informed.

From the Three Biggest Lies Department:
Hello,
I was away on a trip (nothing fancy, visiting the inlaws) and realized that I still have to send the check.
It is in the mail. No really!!
Douglas McCannel
How about that – a day to spare. Would like to reserve three tickets for the reception for:
ü Rob Kotyshyn and his wife Karen
ü Fred Fishburne
Will send the cheque to Anita.
Cheers,
Rob Kotyshyn
Fantastic! Count me in!
George Szava-Kovats
It’s still difficult to say, as volleyball season is “just” starting, and hoping for “not” a tourney on that weekend. Sorry to be a pain but………………..
Craig
Hi!
As usual am just getting in under the wire,
Please put be in for one ticket for the reception, I will meet up with Dorothy Lowrie (nee Aitken) and we’ll come together!
After my husband’s 30 year reunion last, and me just sitting around while he visited with his classmates, he said he would not be coming. But to go and enjoy myself!
Have been watching the names and potential attendees; and I feel like I am truly old now, with all the memories coming back!
Looking forward to seeing so many people and learning about what everyone has done, the highs and the lows.
Cheers,
Heather Majeau (nee MacLennan)
I’m sure you need more junk mail LOL
have a great day

QUICK CHECK–ALZHEIMER’S
THIS IS HARD TO DO
The following was developed as a mental age assessment by the School of Psychiatry at Harvard University . Take your time and see if you can read
each line aloud without a mistake. The average person over 40 years of age cannot do it!
1. This is this cat.
2. This is is cat.
3. This is how cat.
4. This is to cat.
5. This is keep cat.
6. This is an cat.
7. This is old cat.
8. This is person cat.
9. This is busy cat.
10. This is for cat.
11. This is forty cat.
12. This is seconds cat.
Now go back and read the third word in each line from the top down and I betcha’ you can’t resist passing it on!
Although my name is in green on the website list, I’m not sure that I confirmed.
However, I am now officially confirming!
Thanks for organizing this.
Laura Cottle

Struan and Jean Vaughan (Leshenko) will be attending thank you for contacting us. See you there.
I hope it’s ok if I respond this way – my computer didnt like your RSVP button. I’m afraid I wont be able to come to the reunion, but thank you for the invitation. I can see that you have put a huge amount of work into this – best wishes for success!
yours,
Amanda Pounder
Hi…just a quick note to let you know I will not be able to attend…have a great night everyone…it was great to follow the postings on this board…hope you’ll post pics with a story afterwards…take care, regards, Keith Kinloch (Fri Aug 31/07)
Thanks very much for the invite and the incredible hours devoted to this reunion by the committee! I regret I will not be attending, but will also be with you in spirit [or should I say spirits
]. Cheers to all!
Joanne Fisher (nee Bright)
Hi,
Got a message through Rosie Rutsch and Sue Donner that I was difficult to find. How exciting being on the “ten most difficult people to find” list. – how pathetic is that. Ha ha!
Living in Courtenay, BC on Vancouver Island (20 min. from Mount Washington ski hill & 10 min. from the ocean – just gorgeous here).
Hi,
Many thanks to Adrian for tracking me down, as I look forward to attending. Hey Jodi, Ron (any plans to come to Edmonton for the reunion?), Derrick, Darryl… hope you can attend. As the reception is in the river valley I will kindly ask Najeeb to leave his gorilla mask at home! (still haven’t recovered from the stunt you guys pulled on me so many years ago). My wife, daughter and I just returned from a vacation in Italy. Had some excitement in Rome (don’t think they are going to let me drive in Italy anytime soon!).
Small world as Rob Kotyshyn works with my wife.
Ciao!
Brian Miller
Thanks for the invite to our school reunion 2007.
Unfortunately I will be unable to attend as I am starting school in the fall in Vancouver,WA.
I wish you and the committee the best of success in putting this memorable event together.
Regards,
Sandra Downie
No spouse.
No kids.
Yippee.
xo
Thank you for your efforts to contact the class of 77 – you have done an amazing of organizing this event.
I am sorry that I will be unable to attend.
Best wishes,
Lauren (Turner) Chapman
I regret that I will not be able to attend the reunion event. I hope everyone who is able to go has a great time.
Craig.
That sounds like a pretty good crowd. I’m really looking forward to it.
See you there.
Harry
You can put me down for two.
Thanks
ray
Put us down for 2 tickets please.
Thanks,
Margaret
I am single and therefore do not have a spouse. I am planning on bringing two or three friends along. Is there a limit to how many guests we can bring?
Thank you for all your hard work in organizing this reunion event.
Unfortunately, we will be out of town for that weekend and I will not be able to attend.
Send my regards and hope everyone has a wonderful time.
Lori Scragg (Schultz)
you can put me down for 2 tickets – I will drop off the payment too Anita.
Ron Clark
do I get a finders fee for finding Kathie Ashmore for you?
Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend. I hope you and the rest of the gang have a wonderful time reminiscing and rekindling old friendships.
Thanks for all the effort you and the organizing committee have done in order to get us all back together. I can only imagine the amount of work that has gone into this.
Please say hello to all from me at the event and especially give that Dave Otto a hard time as I have not heard from him in a while.
Regards,
Bruce Bondar
Sorry, I will be out of the country and unable to attend.
Say hi to the gang for me. I still see Pauline (she’s my dentist), and I talked to Shelley Whiting a few years ago (She’s the Canadian ambassador to Bosnia – or was at last count).
Hope all is well with you and yours – have fun! cheers,
Tracy Marsden
I regret I won’t be able to make it, I am living in Idaho Falls, Idaho, though I sure would love to see old friends!
So when I first got this message, the web address was not working so I seriously thought that it was a hoax!
Well Ken Ardron just made me aware of the web site and it is awesome. I see that John Hoggan is confirmed!
So count me in and thanks for adding me to the list as, I too did not graduate in 77 as I should have. I procrastinated a bit and got it done in 1993!
Warren Edmundson
I, Mary Kay will be attending with my sweet honey Paul. I will try to be pleasant and I will not scowl and stare at the ceiling.
I have just spent a few minutes going through the Reunion site and I am very impressed with the work everyone has put into it. Thank you.
I am sorry but I am unable to attend, I am committed to a wedding (not my own) in Washington State the same weekend as the reunion.
I am sure that everyone will have a lot of laughs and probably a few tears will be shed too.
Have fun,
Sandy Molnar
Hi,
Life is filled with coincidences. It turns out I will be attending a family reunion in Sherwood Park on October 7 so I would like to join the Scona reunion with my wife Miriam. Hopefully, I will not overdose on memories. If it’s OK, I’d like to bring along my two daughters for the walk through the school. I will send a cheque to Anita Marr who, judging by the address, lives one or two doors down from where our old house stood.
I have lived in Vancouver for the past fifteen years and haven’t kept up with anyone, except for Kevin Rennie, Doug Warwick and Doug McCannel once in a while. It will be great to put faces to a long list of names that have already caused me to stare out the window for long periods of time. And, it will definitely be worth it if I could just wrestle Mr. Belmont to the ground one last time!
See you there,
Gordon Glanz
Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend. I wish everyone an amazing evening, renewing old aquaintances.
Have a great time and thank-you for all your time and effort organizing this event.
Kathie Ashmore
I used to have a major crush on Tana Small, remember her?
signed so-and-so
I regret that I am unable to attend the reunion, due to family responsibilities.
Thanks for the invitation, and the terrific website.
- Cathie Hudson Harris
Hi,
Lorada and Dale BRENNEIS will attend.
Look forward to seeing everyone!
Deepest regrets – I am unable to attend.
Thanks for the invite, and all the effort put into this
All the best
Glen Wonders
Janet Wilkinson and her husband Jim Mckee will attend on the 6th.
Yes, I (Vala Grenier) and my young and handsome husband (Bryan Morlidge [yes, Arlene Morlidge's little brother]) will be attending.
We will drop off the cheque sometime within the next week (take that, postal system). I am really looking forward to this. I was just wishing someone would organize something, but too lazy to try it myself. Oh, I sent an e-mail to Arlene. She probably won’t be able to make it as she lives in Toronto and was just here 2 weeks ago.
Hi guys,
Wow you guys are on your toes! You must have a hotline to the Hotel. I made my room reservation and magically my name on the list came up green.
I have to admit, I changed my mind about going to the reunion a hundred times (my husband gave me a nudge in the right direction). I know that If I don’t go; I’ll wish I had – I just hate it when that happens!!
Anyway please reserve one ticket for me. I’ll send my cheque today. Come on Dee Dee – Rosie said she’ll go, if you do!!!
Janeen Peacock (Forbes)
Hi Aaron,
I am glad to hear that you are well – and that a responsible person is in charge of this whole thing.
Samantha Schwann is my partner’s name. We were laughing this morning, as she was actually born in 1977. I forgot just how old I was.
I look forward to seeing you again, along with everyone else who will be in attendance.
I see that someone was looking for Mr. Brunanski. I have been a Film and Television Producer for the past 10 years in Vancouver. I have actually worked with him indirectly on a couple of shows, although we never actually met at the time. I will gladly track him down for you today if no one has managed to do so yet. I still remember one of his Haiku’s that read something like: “How noble the fridge”.
I have operated a Martial Arts school (more as a hobby) since 1991. You may wish to visit the link for fun: .
Please keep in touch my friend. I will mail out my cheque to you today.
Donald.
It’s been a long time! How did you get my e-mail?
Unfortunately Boston is a long way from Edmonton, so I cannot make the reunion.
I don’t have any old photos, but I will try to post some recent ones.
My best to your dad as well. I remember his French class fondly.
Peter
I will only need one ticket.
I’ll mail my cheque tomorrow.
Thanks for all of your hard work.
Maureen (Max) Cross
Aaron, my apologies. I thought I had advised that I would not be attending. I wish you all a very happy reunion!! My thanks, Loretta.
Aaron,
One ticket, I’ll send a cheque out this week.
thanks,
Hi Aaron
Sorry for the delay replying–I can’t attend I’m afraid as I already have a conference the next weekend and two weekends in a row is too much for me in term. I hope it is a very successful event. I’m especially sorry to miss the chance to reconnect with Sheila Luck–I saw she was down to attend. I hope you all have a wonderful time.
I checked out your company page, your own work looks very interesting–though I hardly understood all that you do. I hope that life and work are going well for you.
Marni
Aaron,
Hate to say it, but I can’t attend. Scheduling issues for major renovations at my home are being pushed to the limits and therefore I must bow out. Sorry for the delay in response. Thanks.
Ken S
Hope I’m not too late… I’d like to book one ticket for myself.
I shall forward a cheque to Anita Marr.
Thanks,
John Hoggan
We’ll be there.
Dale Albus
Colleen Burnstad a.k.a. Locken (Albus)

Ok.
Fantastic Count me in.
Richard
Thanks, I’d like to go to the reception.
Becky
Aaron;
I know that I told you to put me down for 2, but no, it will only be me. My lovely assistant will be away at a conference then. Cheers.
-Cliff
Thanks for the work you’ve put into creating this welcoming, encouraging reunion website.
I’m happy to be able to join you for the reception on the 6th. I’ll bring as my ‘date’ my sister Jane Calhoun.
Avery
Hi guys,
Thanks for all the great work you all have been doing.
I know my name is in green on the site, but I wanted to officially confirm that my wife Diane and I will be attending.

hi anita this is Keith Fix , you know i am coming , adrian talked to me back in june.
Hey Boo Boo just found the site. I am going to see if I can pull this off. Talk to you soon.
I was actually in the Class of ‘78, but most of my good friends at the time were in the Class of ‘77. Bruce Puffer (who was responsible for my spending most of Grade 12 in a lounge on White Ave) let me know about the reunion. I have tracked down Mr. Brunanski and I am trying to convince him to show. Wonderful job Aaron and team. I remember most everyone and I am counting the sleeps.

Hello, it is Brian Rosser finally checking in – a day late which I hope is okay.
I am heading overseas some time in October and thought I would have travel plans finalized by now but still do not. Hopefully I will still be here early October in which case would love to attend reunion.
Please mark me as attending. If anything changes, I will advise. Looking forward to it
Brian
HI, Thanks for contacting me.
The information arrived about the time Sam and I had a visit from Debby Weir and her husband, Randy McDonald. We had a good laugh going through the different yearbooks starting with one from Parkallen from our grade 9 year.
I won’t be able to make it to the Reunion but have fun everyone J. Katherine McFadden
Hello
I am sending in my RSVP to the Scona 77 reunion. I will be able to attend the banquet on Oct 6/07. I can’t believe 30 years have gone by. I received the news of the reunion from Rosie Rutsch and Janeen Peacock(Forbes) who are also coming. Thank you so much for all the hard work in putting such a great event together and am looking forward to seeing everyone again. I will put my check in the mail to Anita Sept 17/07.
Hi Aaron,
I finally talked to Rosie Rutsch. She just got back from Mexico this morning. She doesn’t have a computer at home and so asked me to e-mail you. She is coming to the reunion and would like one ticket. I will give her Anita’s address and she will mail her cheque right away.
We are still trying to get in touch with Dee Dee (Delores) Dedeluk (Pennifold) – she might come, not sure. Is your deadline etched in stone, or would it still be possible for another ticket for Dee Dee and possibly her hubby (if they can attend??) if we can let you know within the next couple of days?
Please let me know,
Thanks so much,
Janeen Forbes (Peacock)
I’ll be there. Gordon Glanz has been slowly dialing up the pressure for a few days now. It looks like the only way I can get him to stop sending links to ticket prices is if buy one to come.
I wonder if Najeeb still has any of those albums we used to play too loud at lunch hour.
See you there,
Kevin
Wow – this is so fantastic! When I first saw the reunion notice of course there weren’t as many names and fewer responses. Now I see and recognize more names and I can even place faces to most of the names. But I can’t say that’s going to be true when we are all face-to-face (LOL). The name tags may have to be a 14-16 font character to accommodate the degenerative eyesight! Was pretty ‘blind’ when I was in high school and after years of being a Systems Analyst/Applications Consultant, the eyes are barely hanging in there.
Oddly enough as I was reading the comments, I see Jim Kellner is travelling to Chicago for the marathon while I am flying back to Edmonton to avoid the rabid runners. Yes, I’m living and working in Chicago these days. By coincidence, the reunion is occurring around the time of my planned annual visit to Edmonton.
Looking forward to meeting and catching up with as many of you as possible. (I still remember some of my French Monsiour Bourgoin although I don’t get enough practice south of the border!)
Sorry it took so long to write, I havent been here for a while, No I cant attend, I would have loved to come, Thanks for reminding me to reply, Martina
I’ve been found , but sorry I won’t be able to attend
Unable to attend this one maybe the next one
Hi Aaron,
Thanks for the note. Just found out about the reunion. Unfortunately I have company staying at my home in Parksville, BC, this weekend and will be unable to attend.
Thanks again
Greg Hogge
Graduated class of 76. Unable to attend. Have lived in Edmonton since graduation. Recognize lots of names, had to go to yearbook to put faces to the names. If any old classmates wish to touch base am in the phone book.
Have a great time…
Directly contacted Aaron…thought I would make it official. Put me down for 2 tickets and I will get the money to Anita. Hmmmm!? What does a cheque look like?
It will be interesting to see everone again…hope I can recognize someone…must remember to bring yearbook and glasses.
See you all then.
Lyle and Cathy McDermid
PS. My brother Dan McDermid is a teacher at the old school.
Hi Aaron, unfortunately, I’ve moved to the ‘no ‘ category. Thanksgiving weekend is a real family thing with us, so I have to say no. any other weekend I would have come for sure.
I hope it turns out well,,,if you happen to create a Facebook group, please do let me know…you could post all your pictures and those of us who cant come can comment

I can’t make it this weekend, but think often of many of you!! I know I’m gonna wish that I had, but it can’t be helped. Hope that everyone has a great time. What a trip down the lane just browsing the comments here has been.
Cheers!
Aaron
Actually I just emailed Brett Harris regarding the reunion…I would love to be there although, I live and work in Niagara Falls, Ont and unfortunately I can’t get leave to fly out that weekend. Please send my regards and I hope that the reunion is everything special and more.
